About Me
My name is Claire Stillwell, and I’m a 22-year-old redshirt junior at Indiana University Indianapolis. I’ve been playing softball since I was 11 and am a right-handed pitcher. Originally from a small town in Illinois, I graduated from Lasalle-Peru Township High School before attending Triton College in River Grove, IL. At Triton, I played softball for two years and studied Fire Science. After Triton, I moved to South Carolina to take a redshirt year at the University of South Carolina Beaufort. This gave me time to focus on both my academics and athletics before transferring to IUI, where I am now majoring in General Studies with an emphasis in Criminal Justice and a Sociology minor. I’ve been a firefighter since I was 16, and in 2021, I graduated from fire academy the same year I graduated high school, thanks to online learning during the pandemic. My goal is to pursue a career as a smokejumper, which is a wildland firefighter. I am a little farm kid with a really big family as well!
